Practical Driver Training and Test

As a guide on average most experienced car drivers require between 5-7 days LGV Category C training in order to reach test standard. If you have experience in 7.5 tonne driving or a regular coach driver the course duration may be reduced to 3/4 days.

The training course will cover all aspects required by the Driving Standards Agencies (DSA) syllabus, such as vehicle safety check questions, driving on urban and rural roads, duel carriage ways and motorways, also off road reversing and braking exercises.

A normal training day will consist of 4-4.5 hours training with a ratio of no more than two students to one instructor. If there are two students, a day will be 8-8.5 hours.
