Cambrian Driver Training offer B+E trailer / caravan towing training by a DSA Approved Driving Instructor to companies and individuals who need the B+E category adding to their licence.
DSA tests are can now be carried out in Carmarthen.
Car Licences Held Before 1 January 1997
You retain your existing entitlement to tow trailers until your licence expires. You may currently drive a vehicle and trailer combination up to 8.25 tonnes MAM. You are also permitted to drive a minibus + trailer over 750kg MAM.
Car Licences Obtained After 1 January 1997
If you passed your test on or after the above date, you will be required to pass an additional driving test in order to gain entitlement to category B+E and all larger vehicles. There is no category B+E theory test it is a practical test only
The Trailer Towing Law states that you must have a category B (car) driving licence before towing any size of trailer or caravan.

We are a registered approved training provider for Farming Connect.
Farming Connect / Farm Advisory Service is funded by the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007-2013. This is financed by the Welsh Assembly Government and the European Union and could provide 80% funding towards the cost of trailer training.
This exercise is usually carried out at the start of the test. Remember to use all round observation throughout the exercise. Keep all wheels within the boundary line throughout the exercise. If you get out of the vehicle stop the engine.
The Manoeuvre
From Monday 26 March 2012 the size of the manoeuvring area for the ‘S’ shaped reverse exercise is being reduced in size.
The new manoeuvring area measures 66m x 11m, compared to the previous 92m x 18m.
